The second week of CHI Pärnu 2024 turned out to be much more intense than the first when show jumping riders and driving athletes were in the spotlight and eventing riders competing at national level. Estonian rider Urmas Raag and Finnish driver Talvikki Järvinen won the main events.

The international show jumping competition reached its culmination on Sunday with the Grand Prix main class giving valuable world rating (Longines Ranking) points with the obstacle height of 145 cm. Our international category Estonian course designer Renee Nüüd  had designed a course that was very well suited for the level of the riders competing, while seven riders were able to finish the first round without mistakes securing them a place in the jump off. This time – Urmas Raag took the victory winning with his horse Verdict. Another titled show jumping rider Gunnar Klettenberg also showed a good performance, taking third place as a final result on a horse called Esprit du Buisson Z. Second place went to an experienced and quick Latvian pair Laura Penele on Dundas. A young talented Triinu Riisberg on Isthar Esqui was certainly a source of joy to watch when they fought their way to the fourth place in the jump off – showing us that the future of the show jumping sport in Estonia is not dark.

On Saturdays main 145cm class Estonians also showed a good success as our athletes took the five first places on the pedestale. The first place went to last years Tallinn International Horse Show Grand Prix winner Madis Morna on Herbert, while the second was Renek Rosenberg with Ciorana TT, the third Rein Pill with Geesche and the fourth place our future hope Triinu Riisberg. The fifth place was fought by Tarmo Kutsar on Bel Canto.

In driving sports, the main class was the single-horses 3* competition giving also valuable points for the world ranking. The Finnish driver Talvikki Järvinen, one of the world’s top riders, did a clean job, taking both first and second place participating with two horse. Sweden’s Maria Nyström finished third.
