The three-week international equestrian festival CHI Pärnu concluded today at Maria Farm in Pärnu County. The highlight of the event, the Central European League show jumping World Cup qualifier, was won by Andrius Petrovas on Rowin van de Brouwershoeve.
A total of 16 athletes started in the 155 cm class, with three combinations qualifying for the jump-off after clear rounds. Among them were Kristaps Neretnieks of Latvia, who has represented his country at two Olympic Games, riding Valour, and Lithuanian rider Matas Petraitis on Nicko P.
First to start in the jump-off, Neretnieks delivered a fast round but collected 8 penalties. Petraitis, who followed, also went for speed but finished the jump-off with 4 penalties. Petrovas, last to enter the arena, completed the jump-off clear with a slightly slower round, securing both the class win and victory in the World Cup qualifier.
The best Estonian result came from Gunnar Klettenberg with San Sebastian. They completed the main round without jumping penalties but missed out on the jump-off after collecting three time penalties for exceeding the time allowed. Klettenberg finished in a prize-winning fifth place.
